Editorial shoot for The Independent on Saturday Magazine.

A couple of weeks ago, on a cold wet Saturday morning, I joined the Yorkshire members of the anti-monarchy group, ‘Republic’, as they handed out leaflets trying to convince January sale bargain hunters to join their cause – the demise of the monarchy. It’s fair to say they got a pretty positive response from the good folk of Leeds, that said, my particular favorite was the father who, having handed a leaflet back to one of the campaigners, turned to his young son and said, “Now that’s what you call a tosser”. Not long after that, the group adjourned to the pub, ironically called The Queen Victoria, to discuss their strategy for the year and drink warm beer!

The shoot was part of a feature on the Republic, published in last weekend’s ‘The Independent on Saturday Magazine’; it got a great show with one of my photo’s used as the lead over two pages. I’ve included a few more images from the day…

Portrait of Rotherham MP Sarah Champion for The Times.

Here’s a small selection from the portrait I shot for The Times of Sarah Champion, the MP for Rotherham. All natural light (which is a change for me!) from a stairwell in the office block where Sarah has her office.

Folk singer Billie Martin for the Independent’s ‘One To Watch’ feature.

Some images from the Billie Marten portrait shoot for the ‘One to Watch’ feature in the Independent on Saturday’s Radar Section. I meet Billie just before a recent recording session at a fab little studio hidden away in a residential area of Harrogate…

Photography for the various NHS England stands at Expo 2014 Conference.

Over the last few weeks I spent a couple of days photographing patients and staff around various NHS organisations for NHS England. At the time, I  knew some of the portraits would be used on the stand at this weeks Health and Innovation conference, but I must admit, I never thought I’d see them blown up to over 30 meters wide…..

Portraits for the University of Bradford magazine News & Views.

A small selection of portraits shot for News & Views, the magazine for staff and students at the University of Bradford. It’s a fab little publication, great use of images & always use portraits over two pages.
