Really pleased with the coverage of my snowy photo’s from Leeds yesterday. Bagged myself the front page of The Times!….The caption from the the Mail Online is brilliant!
Here’s a couple of images form two recent shoots for the nationals. The portraits of Bana Gora, the Chief Executive of the Muslim Women’s Council, were commissioned for the last printed copy of The Independent. The images of Mark Freanley are for a case study in the Money section of The Times on Saturday.
A couple of weeks ago, on a cold wet Saturday morning, I joined the Yorkshire members of the anti-monarchy group, ‘Republic’, as they handed out leaflets trying to convince January sale bargain hunters to join their cause – the demise of the monarchy. It’s fair to say they got a pretty positive response from the good folk of Leeds, that said, my particular favorite was the father who, having handed a leaflet back to one of the campaigners, turned to his young son and said, “Now that’s what you call a tosser”. Not long after that, the group adjourned to the pub, ironically called The Queen Victoria, to discuss their strategy for the year and drink warm beer!
The shoot was part of a feature on the Republic, published in last weekend’s ‘The Independent on Saturday Magazine’; it got a great show with one of my photo’s used as the lead over two pages. I’ve included a few more images from the day…
Here’s a small selection from the portrait I shot for The Times of Sarah Champion, the MP for Rotherham. All natural light (which is a change for me!) from a stairwell in the office block where Sarah has her office.
Some images from the Billie Marten portrait shoot for the ‘One to Watch’ feature in the Independent on Saturday’s Radar Section. I meet Billie just before a recent recording session at a fab little studio hidden away in a residential area of Harrogate…
